Tour Description

"Laissez les bon temps rouler" - Let the Good Times Roll at Mardi Gras! Join us as we enjoy the family-friendly version of Mardi Gras.  We’ll participate in the Real Acadiana – seafood, toe-tapping zydeco music, and the bayou wildlife, before the BIG PARADE!

Day 1:

Meals: Dinner

Our journey to the Cajun country starts today as we make our way through the Ozarks and arrive in Little Rock.  Just outside of Little Rock, we will find ourselves enjoying an elegant meal at the immaculate Marlsgate Plantation in the quaint town of Scott, AR.     MG Map

Day 2:

Meals: Breakfast

As we depart Little Rock this morning, we say goodbye to the Natural State and arrive in the Creole State.  Tonight, we will share the fun & excitement at the “Krewe of Gemini Float Loading Party.” A yearly tradition and celebration you won’t want to miss.

Day 3:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

As we continue south, we find ourselves in Lake Charles, here we will get a chance to explore the Mardi Gras Museum of Imperial Calcasieu.  The colorful history of Mardi Gras is on full display here with brilliant costumes, a climb-aboard parade float, and more.  Also, in Lake Charles, we will have the opportunity to decorate our very own King Cake.  We will be stopping at the Gator Chateau before getting some sleep at our hotel in Lafayette, LA where we will be staying for the next 3 nights.

Day 4:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

The adventure continues!  Today, we explore the differences between swamps and bayous in a Swamp Boat Tour.  This area is known for its diverse wildlife and breathtaking beauty.  Next, we head to Vermilion Historic Village, a living history museum dedicated to recreating the region’s diverse cultures during the 18th and 19th centuries. We’ll cap off the day with the sweet, rich sound of Cajun and Zydeco music at Martins Accordions.  You’ll be tapping your toes to the authentic music, as well as seeing first-hand how this region’s most iconic musical instrument is made.

Day 5:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

It’s a spicy day as we travel to the TABASCO Factory on Avery Island to tour the only factory in the world making this distinctly southern sauce.  Lunch will be included on Avery Island.  Leaving here, get ready to experience a taste of Mardi Gras as we arrive in downtown Lafayette, LA for the traditional (but family-friendly) Night Parade.

Day 6:

Meals: Breakfast

Today is the big day!  This morning we will return to downtown Lafayette for the big event.  Mardi Gras!  South Louisiana is home to the greatest free party on earth, and we are here to join the fun during the King’s Parade.  In Lafayette, LA, residents celebrate in many ways, including family-friendly Mardi Gras parades with marching bands, beads, and doubloons.  We say goodbye to Lafayette this afternoon, but the fun isn’t over yet. We’re headed to Natchez, MS, for the evening.

Day 7:

Meals: Breakfast

This morning we spend some time exploring the beautiful city of Natchez, a true Southern gem, before we actually head back to Louisianna for a stop in Monroe.  Here in Monroe, we stop at the one and only Duck Commander before turning north towards home.  We will stop in Monticello, AR, for our overnight.

Day 8:

Meals: Breakfast

Today we return home filled with incredible memories and delicious food.  We love sharing these unforgettable experiences with you, and we hope you will join us again for another memory making adventure
