Our first 2 days are travel days to our bucket list destination!
Day 2:
Day 2 we land in Fairbanks, AK where our adventure begins! We spend 2 nights here.
Day 3:
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
This morning, board your Sternwheel Riverboat and learn about early communication and commerce in Fairbanks. Our lunch is in the riverboat area. This afternoon, enjoy a visit to Fountainhead Auto Museum to explore a second to none collection of classic cars and vintage clothing. Take a step back in time as you learn about the collection and history of transportation. Visit the Santa Claus House, a year-round celebration of Christmas. You are treated to a salmon bake and show this evening!
Day 4:
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Learn about Fairbank’s gold mining history with a Gold Dredge #8 tour. Ride on the replica Tanana Valley Railroad and view the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. Try your luck at panning for gold! Lunch is on your own at the Cookie Jar Restaurant. We enjoy a fun and festive dinner and show at Cabin Nite in Denali National Park. We spend 2 nights in Denali, AK.
Day 5:

Today is all about Denali National Park! Board the Denali Natural History Tour for an experience to learn about the rich, natural, and cultural history of Denali National Park. Your driver, a naturalist, provides information about the landscape, geology, and history of the park and preserve. The remainder of the day is yours to explore at leisure or select an optional tour, such as flightseeing or kennel visit.
Day 6:

This morning, we continue our adventure in true Alaskan style aboard the scenic train. As we settle in, panoramic views of the Last Frontier unfold before us. The route between Denali and Talkeetna offers some of the most stunning scenery in all of Alaska, making this journey truly unforgettable. By evening, we arrive in beautiful Anchorage, AK where we settle in for a 2 night stay.
Day 7:

Our day starts with a visit to the Alaska Native Heritage Center where you can explore the exhibits and outdoor village sites to learn about Alaska’s Indigenous Cultures and People. We take a city tour of Anchorage that includes Earthquake Park, Downtown Anchorage, and Lake Hood, the world’s busiest seaplane base. The remainder of the day is yours at leisure.
Day 8:
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
As we travel south along the scenic Turnagain Arm to the port in Whittier, AK, keep your eyes open for sheep, eagles, and even Beluga whales! On a clear day you can see glaciers in the mountains. We visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center to get an up-close look at some of Alaska’s wildlife, such as bears, moose, wolves, and more. Once we travel through the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel into Whittier, it’s time to cruise!! We say hello to our home for the next 7 nights, the Norwegian Jade! Explore, relax, enjoy! Throughout the cruise, all meals are provided on the ship, and excursions are booked directly through Norwegian Cruise Lines. Just be sure to be back on the ship in time. The boat doesn’t wait for anyone.
Day 9:

Today is a day at sea but watch as we pass by the Hubbard Glacier, often called the “Galloping Glacier”, this afternoon! As one of Alaska’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders, it is the largest tidewater glacier in North America. It’s turquoise-colored face stretches over 76 miles long and rises about 300 feet above the waterline. Hidden underneath the water is another massive 2700 feet approximately. As you cruise by, keep an eye out for a rich variety of wildlife from bald eagles, harbor seals, orcas, and humpback whales.

The first stop on our cruise is Icy Straight Point. This picturesque destination offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and thrilling adventures. You are welcome to stay on board or book an excursion.
Day 11:

Our second port is the beautiful Juneau, a unique blend of wild beauty, rich history, and small-town charm. Nestled between towering mountains, it offers breathtaking views, abundant wildlife, and unparalleled viewing of natural wonders such as Mendenhall Glacier and Tracy Arm Fjord.

As we move along the Inside Passage, we stop today in the quaint little town of Skagway. In 1896 to 1897, this town to grew from a few tents into a city of 20,000 gold seekers! Stroll among the charming boardwalk lined with buildings that replicate those of Gold Rush days.

Today, we arrive in Ketchikan, surrounded by some of the world’s lushest wilderness due to its abundant rainfall. Tlingit Indian name, Kach Khanna, means “spread wings of the eagle.” At the southernmost port on the Inside Passage, it is known as the Totem Pole Capital of the World, for its rich Native heritage, vibrant art scene, and picturesque waterfront. It’s famous for its colorful Creek Street boardwalk, historic buildings, and plentiful salmon runs.

Enjoy your last day on the ship at sea. Keep your cameras handy for more stunning views and wildlife along the Inside Passage.

It’s time to bid farewell to the Norwegian Jade as we disembark in Vancouver, BC and travel home.
