Þingvellir National Park is a place of striking nature and deep history. Set where two tectonic plates drift apart, it features lava fields, rift valleys, and Iceland’s largest lake, Þingvallavatn. Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most iconic waterfalls, is located in the Golden Circle. The waterfall plunges in two stages into a rugged canyon, creating a powerful and awe-inspiring sight. Visitors can get close to the falls, feeling the mist and hearing the roar of the water as it crashes into the gorge below. The Geysir Geothermal Area in Iceland’s Golden Circle is home to bubbling hot springs, steam vents, and the erupting Strokkur geyser, which spouts water every few minutes. At Friðheimar, explore the geothermal greenhouse where tomatoes grow year-round using sustainable energy. Learn about innovative farming among rows of thriving plants.
