All aboard for an unforgettable journey through Colorado’s most breathtaking landscapes and historic railways! From the thrilling heights of the Royal Gorge Bridge to the timeless charm of the Durango & Silverton and Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroads, you experience the Rocky Mountains as few ever do, by rail. Ride to the summit of Pikes Peak on the iconic Cog Railway, stand in awe at the majestic Garden of the Gods, and cap off your days with western-style fun at an authentic chuckwagon dinner; a true taste of the Wild West!

Day 1:


Meals: Dinner

Today our adventure begins as we pick up your fellow rail riders and head west! You are in for a treat for dinner at the Crown & Rye in Lindsborg, KS known for its warm and inviting Scandinavian inspired setting and menu that masterfully blends traditional Swedish favorites with American comfort dishes. Our first night on the trail is in Salina, KS.

Day 2:


Meals: Breakfast

Before reaching our destination for 3 nights in Colorado Springs, CO we are getting a captivating glimpse into the rich history of the American West at the Old Town Museum in Burlington, CO. Wander through the fully restored historic buildings, view thousands of artifacts that echo tales from years gone by as you delve into Colorado’s storied past.

Day 3:


Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Photo Courtesy of Flying W Ranch Today is full of adventure beginning with a visit to the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center in Colorado Springs, CO followed by jeep tours through the entire park where you see its dramatic red rock formations and General Palmer’s Tudor-style castle, Historic Glen Eyrie property. Tonight, you’re transported back into the wild west at the Flying W Ranch Chuckwagon Supper and Original Western Stage Show nestled in the foothills of Pikes Peak. Before your chuckwagon dinner, served on tin plates and cups just like they had at the old cowboy camps, explore the historic ranch grounds with ranch animals, horseshoe demonstrations, Navajo rug weaving, silversmith, and more. Following dinner, get ready to stomp your feet to the world-renowned musical entertainment and clean bunkhouse humor of the Flying W Wranglers!

Day 4:


Meals: Breakfast

All aboard the Pikes Peak Cog Railroad in Manitou Springs, CO passing scenic landmarks with breathtaking views of forests, waterfalls, alpine tundra, and wildlife. Reach the summit of Pikes Peak, described as the “gateway to heaven,” and be enamored by the panoramic vistas. After we descend from the mountain, enjoy free time for lunch on your own and exploring the charming, historical town of Manitou Springs.

Day 5:


Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

The Royal Gorge Route Railroad in Canon City, CO is a historic, scenic train ride that carries you on a dramatic 11-mile journey through the 1,000 ft deep Royal Gorge along the roaring Arkansas River and under the iconic suspension bridge. Complementing the train experience, afterwards enjoy lunch and take in the views at the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park. Tonight, we hang our hats in Alamosa, CO.

Day 6:


Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Our Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad train, known for its vintage locomotives, departs from Antonito, CO this morning. Sit back and enjoy the breathtaking mountains, canyons, and high desert of Colorado. Lunch is included at Osier Station before our ride continues to Cumbres Station. Our motor coach driver will pick us up and take us to our next destination, Durango, CO. Here we spend 2 nights at our hotel on the Animas River.

Day 7:


Meals: Breakfast

The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is a historic train ride dating back to 1882 that travels through the rugged Animas River Canyon to the old mining town of Silverton, CO. Enjoy lunch on your own in Silverton, known for its rugged charm, historic buildings, and stunning alpine scenery. Step back in time as you explore Main Street, quaint shops, and dramatic backdrops. We return to Durango on our motor coach, so you have free time to explore.

Day 8:


Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Our journey back to the east begins with our first stop at Pagosa Springs Town Park in Pagosa Springs, CO where hot springs flow into the San Juan River. Our journey continues until we reach our overnight hotel in Lamar, CO.

Day 9:


Meals: Breakfast

The historic Boot Hill Museum awaits our visit in Dodge City, KS. This museum is a lively, immersive old west attraction built on the original Boot Hill Cemetery where you can stroll a reconstructed 1870’s frontier town and explore authentic artifacts and gun collections. We overnight in Wichita, KS.

Day 10:


Meals: Breakfast

As the last whistle blows and the mountain vistas fade into memory, we leave the Tracks and Treasures of Colorado with hearts full of wonder and stories etched in steam and stone. From dramatic rail climbs to cowboy melodies under the stars, every stop has been a window into the soul of the West.
