Day 1:
With excitement building to witness nature’s vibrant display of fall colors, we gather you and the rest of our traveling family before heading to Terre Haute, IN, for our overnight stay.
Day 2:
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Rise and shine! By lunchtime, we dine! After a relaxing morning drive, we enjoy a delicious meal at Schmidt’s Sausage Haus in Columbus, OH a beloved German restaurant serving up authentic fare since 1886. This central Ohio landmark offers warm hospitality and hearty flavors, perfect for a festive fall meal. After lunch, we explore the charm and history of German Village before continuing our journey. By evening, we settle in for the night at our hotel in Akron, OH.
Day 3:
Meals: Breakfast
Are you a fan of trains? Then you’re in for a treat this afternoon at the Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, PA. Here, the sights, sounds, and steam of vintage locomotives bring the spirit of America’s industrial age to life in a truly unforgettable way. After exploring this fascinating piece of railroad history, we continue on to our hotel in Middletown, NY for a restful evening.
Day 4:

Prepare to be captivated by our visit to The Breakers in Newport, RI. This grand oceanfront mansion, once the summer “cottage” of Cornelius Vanderbilt II, offers a breathtaking glimpse into the opulence and elegance of the Gilded Age. After exploring the lavish rooms and stunning views of this historic estate, we wrap up our day’s journey with an overnight stay in Plymouth, MA.
Day 5:
Meals: Breakfast
Our day begins with a visit to the towering National Monument to the Forefathers in Plymouth, MA. This is an impressive 81-foot granite tribute to the brave passengers of the Mayflower and their enduring legacy. From there, we continue to Pilgrim Memorial State Park to see the iconic Plymouth Rock, a symbol of our nation’s early beginnings. Next, we step aboard the Mayflower II, stroll through the scenic Brewster Gardens, and explore the historic Plimoth Grist Mill still in operation and proudly contributing to the movement for local grain production. After soaking in the spirit of early America, we meet our Step on Guide for a tour of Boston, MA. With all the rich history and engaging sights and America’s 250th year-long Independence Day celebrations, we are calling Boston home for the next 2 nights!
Day 6:
Enjoy a free day with Hop-On/Hop-Off passes for the Old Town Trolley. Explore Boston at your own pace and unwind before the exciting days ahead filled with memorable experiences!
Day 7:
Meals: Dinner
We visit the charming seaside town of Kennebunkport, ME where you have time to stroll, shop, and soak in the coastal charm. Our scenic journey continues through the beautiful Maine countryside to Bar Harbor, ME where we settle in for a 2 night stay to fully enjoy this stunning region. Before we call it a day, we have a special Bar Harbor Lobster Bake meal planned just for you!
Day 8:
Meals: Breakfast
Our exploration begins with the breathtaking beauty of Acadia National Park on an Oli’s Trolley tour, where vibrant fall foliage surrounds the park’s stunning landscapes. Afterward, enjoy free time in Bar Harbor to grab lunch, browse the shops, and soak in the charm of this coastal town. This afternoon, we have a Lobster, Fish & Seal Watching Cruise, where you get an up-close look as seasoned fishermen haul lobster traps from the ocean floor, revealing lobsters and other sea creatures. Don’t worry, their claws are safely banded! The cruise continues to nearby rocky outcrops where playful seals can often be seen sunning or swimming. Enjoy free time for dinner on your own and exploring Main Street.
Day 9:
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Today, we take a beautiful scenic drive to Rangeley, ME a charming small town, nestled lakeside amid mountains and forests for lunch on your own. Continuing our picturesque route, we explore the Outdoor Heritage Museum in Oquossoc, ME. This is a delightful gem of the Rangeley Lakes Region, offering an immersive outdoor‑themed experience in a rustic setting modeled after an early 1900’s taxidermist’s workshop. We stop at Height of Land, a famous overlook with panoramic views of Mooselookmeguntic Lake and the mountains beyond, especially stunning in peak fall color. This evening, we have a hearty dinner at Sunday River Resort in Newry, ME where we overnight.
Day 10:

The Kancamagus Highway from Conway, NH to Loon Mountain Resort in Lincoln, NH through New Hampshire’s White Mountain National Forest, is one of New England’s most iconic scenic drives, transforming into a spectacular corridor of color in the fall. Along the way, we stop at Lower Falls Recreation Site for a closer view. A fall ride on the Loon Mountain Gondola Skyride offers a breathtaking perspective of New Hampshire’s autumn display, transporting you over a fiery sea of colorful maples and birches as you soar to the 2,733‑foot summit of Loon Peak. We dream in color tonight in our hotel in Manchester, VT.
Day 11:
Meals: Breakfast
With excitement growing throughout our morning journey, we make our way to the breathtaking Niagara Falls in Niagara Falls, NY, board the Maid of the Mist, and experience the thunderous power of the falls up close. The roar of cascading water and the mist on your face will remind you why this natural wonder has amazed visitors for generations. After taking in the splendor, we settle in for the night in Cheektowago, NY.
Day 12:

Today, we visit the beautiful Franklin Park Conservatory & Botanical Gardens in Columbus, OH a vibrant haven of horticulture, art, and education. With its stunning plant collections and captivating displays, it’s sure to leave a lasting impression and add more special memories to your journey. We overnight in Columbus, OH.
Day 13:
Meals: Breakfast
As we begin our journey back home, we have a few enjoyable stops to make the day memorable. Our first visit is to the Warm Glow Candle Outlet in Centerville, IN where you have the chance to browse an array of cozy fall scents and charming gifts. Later, we pause at the inspiring Cross at the Crossroads in Effingham, IL before continuing on to our overnight stay in Valley Park, MO.
Day 14:
Meals: Breakfast
As our journey comes to an end, we reflect on the beautiful sights, new friendships, and unforgettable memories made along the way. Though we head home today, the laughter, experiences, and spirit of adventure we shared will stay with us long after the final mile.
