From the inspiring monuments of the National Mall to the solemn grounds of Arlington Cemetery, our days will be filled with meaningful moments. We'll explore the treasures of the Smithsonian museums, reflect at the National World War II Memorial, and walk in the footsteps of presidents at the White House Visitor Center, Ford’s Theatre, and the U.S. Capitol. Highlights also include festive visits to George Washington’s beloved Mount Vernon, the magnificent Washington National Cathedral, and the enchanting Tudor Place in Georgetown all aglow with holiday touches. Our yuletide journey begins as we pick up festive friends. We enjoy lunch before reaching Terre Haute, IN where we dream of our Washington, DC Christmas adventure ahead!
Day 2:

As we journey northeast, take time to get to know your fellow merrymakers and prepare for the unforgettable Christmas memories that await. Tonight, we pause in the charming town of Cumberland, MD one step closer to the holiday magic in our nation’s capital.
Day 3:

Upon arrival in Washington, DC, we stop at the White House Visitor Center and meet our Step on Guide. If the opportunity allows, we have a White House Christmas Tour where the historic rooms are transformed with elegant, themed decorations that reflect both the spirit of the season and the heritage of the nation, carefully curated by the First Lady. We explore The National Mall with the Smithsonian Museums and iconic Monuments where we find fascinating exhibits from the soaring planes in the National Air and Space Museum to dazzling gems and ancient fossils in the National Museum of Natural History. After a day filled with the perfect mix of wonder, warmth, and American heritage, we enjoy a production at Ford’s Theater. Tonight, we retreat to our Arlington, VA hotel where we stay for 4 nights.
Day 4:
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
We step back into history at George Washington’s Historic Mount Vernon Home offering a gracious blend of colonial history, festive charm, and peaceful winter beauty. The warmth of the season continues at The Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant decorated with colonial-style Christmas decor. In quiet reverence, we tour Arlington National Cemetery on an enclosed trolley. This evening, dinner is at Old Town Alexandria’s Historic Fish Market, a long-standing local landmark, housed in beautifully preserved 18th and 19th century brick architecture. The Fish Market blends casual maritime charm with the historic ambiance of the Old Town District.
Day 5:

Our visit to the National World War II Memorial offers a moving tribute to the courage and sacrifice of an entire generation, set against the backdrop of the Reflecting Pool and Washington Monument. Next, we explore the grandeur of the U.S. Capitol Building, where history and democracy meet beneath the iconic dome. We make a stop at Union Station, an architectural gem dressed in holiday splendor, perfect for a bite to eat at lunch, doing some shopping, or simply soaking in the festive atmosphere.
Day 6:
Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
Step inside the soaring Neo-Gothic Washington National Cathedral, where wreaths, garlands, and red ribbons frame vaulted arches and stained-glass windows in a setting both majestic and peaceful. Then visit Tudor Place, a Federal-period mansion in Georgetown, where rooms are trimmed in festive garlands, twinkling lights, and heirloom ornaments. This evening, we gather for dinner at Tony & Joe’s Seafood Place, a beloved riverside restaurant with sweeping views of Roosevelt Island, the Kennedy Center, and the Wharf’s dancing fountain.
Day 7:

Steven F Udvar-Hazy Center, Chantilly, VA is an expansive Smithsonian annex to the National Air and Space Museum. Be amazed at the museum’s two massive hangars displaying towering artifacts including the Space Shuttle Discover, the Enola Gay B-29 Superfortress, and a Concorde. As you explore the center, enjoy lunch at your leisure. Tonight, we rest our heads in Christiansburg, VA.
Day 8:
Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
We arrive at the Village Shops in Gatlinburg, TN for free time to have lunch on your own, shop for unique Christmas gifts for loved ones, or just enjoy the festive surroundings. Tonight, we are entertained at Hatfield & McCoy’s Christmas Dinner Disaster, Pigeon Forge, TN, a holiday show that mixes comedy, music, stunts, and a hearty Southern meal all wrapped up in festive cheer. With the carols still singing in our heads, we overnight in Pigeon Forge, TN.
Day 9:

On our way to Paducah, KY for our evening stay, we enjoy more Christmas spirit in Nashville, TN.
