Fall is a beautiful time of year that gives just about any area in the United States its own character. The varying shades of reds, purples, oranges and yellows are so vibrant that it makes one think that summer rather than winter is on its way. The forest doesn’t just look alive, but on fire! We would know because New England in fall is one of our favorite and most requested journeys due to this festive season in the northeast. We love sharing this experience with our customers, so come along and be swept away by the torrent of color!

Day 1:

Meals: Lunch

With great anticipation to see the vibrant colors in their natural splendor, after picking up you and the rest of our traveling family, we will make our way to Terre Haute, IN, for the evening.

Day 2:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Rise and shine for at lunchtime we dine! After our morning “commute”, we’ve arranged for you to enjoy some authentic German cuisine Schmidt’s Sausage Haus Restaurant in Columbus, OH, established in 1886. This landmark of central Ohio promises to treat you to some foreign hospitality—a fine place for a fall feast. After lunch, we will enjoy a tour of German Village before continuing our journey. A little further northeast, we will call it a day at our hotel in Kent, OH.

Day 3:

Meals: Breakfast

Do you like trains? If so, you’ll enjoy our afternoon stop at the Steamtown National Historic Site in Scranton, PA. The distinct sound of the old-time smokestacks comes to life once again as we marvel at the unique engineering of the American Industrial era. Following our time at the railroad, we’ll head to our hotel in Matamoras, PA.

Day 4:

Meals: Breakfast

Crossing more miles to reach our destination, you will be amazed at our afternoon stop at The Breakers in Newport, RI! Wow! Built by Cornelius Vanderbilt II, this ocean front summer cottage will transport you to the splendor of the Gilded Age. After our tour of this amazing location, we’ll finish our travel for the day in Plymouth, MA.

Day 5:

Meals: Breakfast

We begin today at the National Monument to the Forefathers in Plymouth, MA. This eighty-one-foot granite statue honors the passengers of the Mayflower. It’s a grand site that foreshadows the rest of the day. Putting this ode to our forefathers behind us, we travel to the Pilgrim Memorial State Park, where we’ll stop and gaze at the famous Plymouth Rock. Then we’ll board the Mayflower II and walk through the Brewster Gardens and Plimoth Grist Mill. This mill is still in operation and prides itself on being a part of the growing movement to localize grain production. After immersing ourselves in history, we’ll take a tour of Boston on the Old Town Trolley. If the events of today didn’t excite you, we will be staying at our hotel in the Boston, MA, area for two nights!

Day 6:

Meals: Breakfast

This Free Day with Old Town Trolley Hop-on/Hop-off passes will give us plenty of time to explore and relax before enjoying the variety of events to follow in the next few days!

Day 7:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

On to our next destination, you will have time to explore in the quaint town of Kennebunkport, ME! After lunch, we continue our drive through the beautiful countryside enroute to Bar Harbor, ME, where we will stay for two nights as we explore the area! Before we can retire, we’ve planned a Making Memories Tours meal for your dining pleasure this evening! Grab those bibs!

Day 8:

Meals: Breakfast

This morning in Bar Harbor, ME, we’ll take in the beautiful scenery of Acadia National Park on an Oli’s Trolley tour! We will observe the incredible landscapes surrounded by the colorful foliage of fall. After you’ve had some free time in the Bar Harbor area for lunch and to take in the shops and sights of this unique town, we’ve arranged a Lobster, Fish & Seal Watching Cruise for you!  You will be able to watch experienced fishermen haul in lobster traps from the ocean floor where they will show us the lobster and other critters caught in the traps. This will be an up-close experience, but no pinching allowed! The crew makes sure those claws are bound by rubber bands for the safety of your fingers. We will set down the nets and cruise over to where we will see seals basking on the rocks or swimming in the water. After this exciting day, you will return to the same hotel with your fellow adventurers.

Day 9:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Today, we make our way west to the Sunday River Resort in Newry, ME. Here, you’ll be able to enjoy the colorful mountain scenery! Our day would not be complete without the hearty dinner we’ve planned for you! We will rest from our day’s events in Newry, ME, tonight.

Day 10:

Meals: Breakfast

From our own bus, we’ll gaze at even more festive fall views as we travel along the Kancamagus Highway, from Conway, NH, to Loon Mountain Resort. Here we’ll take a gondola ride up to the top of Loon Mountain, the longest scenic gondola skyride in New Hampshire! After this beautiful experience, we will travel into Vermont where we will stop for the evening in Manchester, VT.

Day 11:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

With anticipation and excitement building during our morning travels, we will make our way to the majestic Niagara Falls! This afternoon, on the Maid of the Mist, you’ll get an up-close view of this towering natural wonder. You’ll hear the thunderous roar of the thousands of gallons of water rolling off the cliff. This mighty marvel has captivated countless travelers over the years, and we’re happy to give you a chance to experience the awe of creation. Tonight, we’ve planned another meal for our famished travelers before resting our heads in Niagara Falls, NY.

Day 12:

Meals: Breakfast

Today, we’ll stop by the Franklin Park Conservatory & Botanical Gardens in Columbus, OH. A place of horticulture and education, these gardens are bound to grab your attention and give you even more memories to share with friends and family. This is where we will call it a night at our hotel in Columbus, OH.

Day 13:

Meals: Breakfast

As our journey back home begins, we have a few fun stops planned along the way. At the Warm Glow Candle Outlet in Centerville, IN, you’ll find some wonderful fall fragrances to take home and enjoy. Then, before stopping for the night in St. Louis, MO, we will see a Small Town with BIG Things in Casey, IL! Be ready for fun photo opportunities!

Day 14:

Meals: Breakfast

After arriving home today, we hope you’ll cherish the memories we’ve made on our Seasons of Change adventure.
