A little blue flower has garnered quite a reputation in Texas. So much so that it’s the official state flower. We’re sure that in the same way this tiny flower revitalizes tired soil, this trip will brighten your spirit and give you the chance to make some fresh memories.Day 1:
Once we have gathered everyone together, we begin our adventure south and watch our first sunset in Frisco, TX, where we will stop for the night.
Day 2:
Meals: Breakfast
Today, our first destination is Homestead Craft Village, where you’ll see a variety of livestock and landscaping. The Homestead Craft Village takes pride in its nurtured native plants and vegetation, and you’ll have the chance to walk the paths and bridges to see the vast combinations of foliage representative of central Texas. Next, we’re off to Waco, TX, where there will be options for you to enjoy, the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame & Museum or the Magnolia Market. The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum will both educate and entertain you with history and art. The Magnolia Market will enthuse you with its seasonal inspirations and curated collection. Then our bus will whisk us away from Waco to Marble Falls, TX, where we will call our hotel home for the next two nights.
Day 3:
Meals: Breakfast
From Marble Falls, we travel to Fredericksburg where we’ll roam the Wildseed Farms-Trails and Gardens. This multicolored marvel is a 200-acre farm and vineyard with over a half mile of trails where you’ll be surrounded by a variety of wild hues. Our next stop is the National Museum of the Pacific War. Here, the history of World War II will unfold before you as you walk the halls honoring the greatest generation. We’ll end the night back in Marble Falls to prepare for the next day.
Day 4:
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
In the morning, we’ll explore the LBJ Presidential Library, which commemorates the 36th president of the United States, Lyndon B. Johnson. Our next stop will be at the beautiful Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center at the University of Texas at Austin. Here, we will be privileged to see how the center’s mission is to inspire conservation of native plants through their gardens, research, education and outreach programs for improvement of water quality, provide habitat for wildlife and enhance human health and happiness. At this point, you might’ve worked up quite the thirst after all the wonderful sights you’ve seen. We have just the thing. During our stop at the Dr. Pepper Museum, you’ll have the chance to refresh yourself and learn about the history of this iconic beverage. Then we’ll end our day here in Waco, TX.
Day 5:
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Today we’re excited to reach our main attraction: Ennis Bluebonnet Trail & Festival! After arriving in Ennis, TX, a charming city with a rich history and vibrant community, we’ll enjoy a guided tour of bluebonnet trails. Knowledgeable Ennis Garden Club members will be our step on guides! The trails we will see are the oldest such trails known in the state and will give us the chance to see why the Bluebonnet is the official state flower of Texas. After we’ve seen these wild wonders, we’ll head on over to the Southfork Ranch, where one of the most famous television series, Dallas, was filmed. Here, we’ll be treated to a tour of the ranch the Ewings called home and a dinner that will make you feel like a true Texan. Afterward, we’ll hang our hats for the night at our hotel in Sherman, TX.
