Get ready! Pack your camera and prepare to embark on this unforgettable journey. Is there a better way to explore the breathtaking beauty of New England’s Fall foliage than by train. The answer is—of course—No! This will be an experience you don’t want to miss as we explore mountains rivers and lakes, all whilst immersed in the vibrant awesome colors of Autumn in New England. This is—without a doubt—the best way to experience New England in the Fall.

Day 1:

Meals: Lunch

Our quest for colorful leaves begins today as we board our motorized mule and head out in a northeasterly direction. So, take some time today to meet your fellow fall foliage seekers. We will be arriving in Terre Haute, IN, for our overnight.   New England Map

Day 2:

Meals: Breakfast

Today we will be making our way through the “Buckeye State”, so it only makes sense for us to stop off in Columbus, OH, to see the Ohio State Capitol Building and learn about the long history of the building and its role in the State. Leaving here we continue on and arrive for our overnight stay in Fairlawn, OH

Day 3:

Meals: Breakfast

Our journey takes us into Pennsylvania today. As we approach New England, you’ll notice the leaves begin to change, and we should have some really good views this afternoon as we make our way into the Pocono Mountains (famous for their fall colors). We will be overnighting in Wilkes-Barre, PA, in the heart of the Poconos tonight.

Day 4:

Meals: Breakfast

It will be today that our activities and memory making really start to take off. Our first activity for the day will be at the world’s only Houdini Museum. While here we will receive a guided tour through Houdini memorabilia plus a magic show. After this we cross into New York and find ourselves in Kingston. While here we will enjoy a River Cruise on the Hudson River. On board our experienced guide will point out millionaires’ sumptuous estates, picturesque Hudson River lighthouses and quaint, sleepy villages surrounded by the natural beauty of vineyards, orchards and scenic preservation sites. We will be staying tonight in East Greenbush, NY, right outside Albany.

Day 5:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

If you enjoyed yesterday’s river cruise, you are going to love today’s Steamboat Lunch cruise on the stunning Lake George. While here at Lake George, we would be remiss if we didn’t head over to the Fort William Henry Museum. Here we will see and experience a taste of what life must have been like back when this fort was on the outskirts of civilization. Glen Falls will be where we are overnighting tonight

Day 6:

Meals: Breakfast

After departing here, we cross into Vermont, where we will be spending the day. The time has come for some free time, so we’ll let everyone loose in Woodstock, Vermont, this afternoon to shop and explore. After stretching your legs, we will get back on the bus and make the short drive to Billings Farm and Museum for a little lesson in local farming. Then on to the Quechee Gorge for another chance to explore and take some fantastic pictures. We will be staying the night tonight in New Hampshire.

Day 7:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Prepare to take in the scenery today because we will see beautiful sights. Our first stop will be at the one and only Loon Mountain Resort, where we will take a Gondola Ride to the top of Loon Mountain. Autumn foliage viewing doesn’t get much better than this, so bring your camera along as the vibrant colors covering the mountainsides are something you’ll want to share back home. The it’s on to “The Hobo Railroad.” This train provides a view from the comfort of restored vintage coaches on a historic 1800s rail system. Next up is the Flume Gorge State Park, and then we travel down the Kancamagus Highway, one of the most famous highways in New England. We end the day in North Conway, NH. This has been an exciting and action-packed day so be sure to get some rest tonight, because tomorrow the memory making continues.

Day 8:

Meals: Breakfast

Today we head north and make a stop at Diana’s Baths for a chance to stretch your legs (if you want). You will find a flat half mile walking trail through the woods to a cluster of small waterfalls, rock ledges & pools along Lucy Brook. From here we head to our second train ride of the trip. The Mt. Washington Cog Railway. For more than 150 years, the Mount Washington Cog Railway continues to thrill passengers from all over the world with its dramatic ascent to the summit of the highest peak in the Northeast. We leave here this afternoon and return to North Conway

Day 9:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Yesterday we were on our second train ride of the tour. Well today we will board our third scenic Train Ride - The Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad. This scenic lunch train ride will allow you to enjoy panoramic views of the lake dressed in the colors of Autumn

Day 10:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Our trip isn’t over yet; we still have multiple stops to make along the way. The first one being Hildene, The Lincoln Family Home. This was the family home of Robert Lincoln, son of Abraham Lincoln. Robert and his wife, Mary, built this Georgian Revival mansion in 1905 in the scenic village of Manchester. This is a fascinating little hidden gem that shares the life story of Robert Lincoln, son of one the greatest Americans

Day 11:

Meals: Breakfast

Our activity today is a little off theme, but since we are here in Cooperstown it would be an absolute crime to not head on over to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. While here you have about half a day to honor the All-Time Greats who are enshrined in the Hall of Fame. The Museum preserves history, honors excellence and connects generations. Beyond the iconic Hall of Fame Plaque Gallery are exhibits that tell the story of baseball’s impact on our lives, and our country.

Day 12:

Meals: Breakfast

We will spend the day coming home, so now is a good time to look back at the sights and memories we’ve experience together. After a full day of driving, we arrive in Indianapolis, IN, where we will be staying our final night.

Day 13:

Meals: Breakfast

We want to thank everybody for coming with us on this adventure. We know you’ve made some memories on this journey and we hope you will join us again sometime.
