Imagine taking yourself away to a far-away destination, ocean kissed, wind swept as you immerse yourself in an experience guaranteed to make lifelong memories. This oceanfront odyssey takes us through the Appalachian Mountains and down into the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where four nights in our beach-front hotel are awaiting our arrival. Three days of exploring and island hopping at the Outer Banks will be an experience you will never forget

Day 1:

Our journey begins today as you step onto the bus this morning. Go ahead and take some time today to get to meet your fellow ocean bound voyagers and get ready to make some memories together. We will be coming in for our overnight this day in Clarksville, TN.Outer banks map

Day 2:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

The adventure continues today as our travels take us through the Volunteer State (Tennessee) to Wytheville, VA. After checking into our hotel for the night, we will depart this evening for Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre for an incredible dinner and show in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains.

Day 3:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

We will be arriving at our destination this after0noon and after checking into our beautiful beachfront hotel this afternoon, we have another delicious dinner planned for everyone as we fill our bellies with some succulent seafood, at Captain George’s Seafood Restaurant.

Day 4:

Meals: Breakfast

Today our exploration truly begins as we start our days with a short drive up the Outer Banks to Corolla, NC to see the Wild Horses. We have a real treat in store for everyone, we will hop off our bus and hop into a jeep for an off road adventure to go find these beautiful Spanish Mustangs. Along the way our experienced guide will share some of the history of these majestic creatures. We get back from our adventure horsing around and make our way to the red bricked Currituck Lighthouse, where you will have the opportunity (if you want) to climb to the top of the lighthouse and take in the stunning panoramic view of the Currituck Sound, the Outer Banks, and the Atlantic Ocean.  However, this action-packed day isn’t over yet as we make our way to the Wright Brothers National Memorial and Visitor Center. Wind, sand, and a dream of flight brought Wilbur and Orville Wright to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, where - after four years of scientific experimentation - they achieved the first successful airplane flights on December 17, 1903, forever changing the course of history

Day 5:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

The adventure continues as our next day is spent on Roanoke Island. Today we will be taking in a lot as we check out The Elizabethan Gardens, with an included lunch awaiting us. Afterwards we move on to Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, The historic site of the Roanoke Colony, the first English settlement in the New World. Here we learn about the history and the mystery of Roanoke Island. We will now have some free time to explore, shop and eat in downtown Manteo.

Day 6:

Meals: Breakfast

This morning we depart for a little more exploring as today takes us down the coastline of the Outer Banks making stops along the way, first at the Bodie Island Lighthouse (another opportunity to climb to the top presents itself if you so wish), then on to the Chicamacomico Life-Saving Station (no I can’t pronounce it either) this is a former Coast Guard station and has a proud history and story. Then it is on to lunch. After lunch you can work off those calories as we arrive at the tallest lighthouse in America, Cape Hatteras Lighthouse (again you can climb to the top if you want – or not). Our maritime journey continues as our next destination is the Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum, where you will learn some of the history of the ships that never made it to port. After having dinner on your own in Hatteras, NC, we will make our way back to our hotel for the night.

Day 7:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Before we bid ado to the Outer Banks, we would be silly to not give folks free time at the beach; therefore, today you will have half a day of free time at our oceanfront hotel. You have the opportunity to soak in the sun and truly enjoy the ocean. Leaving the Outer Banks behind, we now head north to Virginia Beach where yet another oceanfront hotel awaits. This evening we have a special surprise in store for everybody here.

Day 8:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Today we start the journey west as we make our way home. However, as we cross Virginia, we will be stopping in Charlottesville, VA, to see the home of one of America’s founding fathers. Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello Home is a historical gem allowing us to see into the world of this founding father. We will also enjoy an amazing lunch here at Michie’s Tavern before we continue heading westward and homeward.

Day 9:

Meals: Breakfast

We journey towards home today taking us through West Virginia and Kentucky before arriving in Evansville IN for our final overnight

Day 10:

Meals: Breakfast

Well today it seems the memory making comes to an end and we arrive home and say goodbye to all the new friends we’ve made on this incredible journey together. We are incredibly glad you decided to travel with us, and we hope we’ll see you again and make more memories together.
