Northern California will be our destination: a remarkable land where the grand scope of nature’s beauty blends with mankind’s incredible accomplishments. Rugged Pacific Coastline, giant Redwoods, snow-capped mountains, some Napa Valley wine, oh, and also, Yosemite National Park. This is where sweet memories are made.

Day 1:

Today is a busy day as we leave the Midwest behind us. Flying west, we touch down in the capitol of California - Sacramento. Upon landing this evening we head straight to our hotel where we will be staying to the next two nights.  

Day 2:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Our first experience in California will be the Old Sacramento Underground Tour. We see and learn how Sacramento lifted itself up out of the flood waters during the 1860s and 1870s; how the streets and buildings were “Jacked Up!” to avoid further flooding; and how spaces were created by the city’s successful raising process. Next up we head to the California State Capitol for an informative tour. Our final activity in Sacramento brings us to the river, where the River City Queen awaits. We will enjoy dinner beneath the stars on a twilight dinner cruise on the Sacramento River

This morning we leave the state capital behind and head north to Redding, CA. After some time in Redding to enjoy lunch and see some of the sights, we head towards Lake Shasta for dinner. Where a delicious Dinner Cruise on Lake Shasta awaits us all. The beautiful scenery of the lake is a memory maker by itself, but add a delicious dinner on top of it, and this is an unforgettable experience.

Day 4:

This morning we head East until we find ourselves in Lassen Volcanic National Park. Upon arriving we will pick up a local Park Ranger who will be traveling with us as we make our way through the park. Lassen Volcanic National Park is home to steaming fumaroles, meadows freckled with wildflowers, clear mountain lakes, and numerous volcanoes. Jagged peaks tell the story of its eruptive past while hot water continues to shape the land. Our Ranger will be able to tell us all about the geology and history of this incredible destination. As our time here comes to an end, we return to our hotel in Redding.

Day 5:

Today we drive from Redding to the California Coast. This will involve a beautiful drive through California’s Northern Coastal Mountain Range. As we come out of the mountains, we find ourselves in Eureka, CA, where we will have a little free time downtown to explore and eat before we head to the harbor and board the Madaket Habor Cruise. We can get a different perspective of the area as we learn the history of Humboldt Bay and Eureka’s waterfront during this historically narrated cruise. The Captain explains local history, industries, activities, points of interests, and wildlife. Seals are sure to be seen along with migratory birds, ships and boats, a lighthouse, an Egret rookery, the Fishermen’s Statue and the iconic Carson Mansion. Leaving here we head to Fortuna, CA, for our overnight in Redwood Country

Day 6:

Today we will be going through the one and only Avenue of the Giants, We’ve built this day with plenty of time for picture stops. We will also be picking up boxed lunches so we can enjoy a picnic here among the towering Redwoods. This is a one-of-a- kind and absolutely unforgettable destination. You do not want to miss this. We leave the Avenue of the Giants behind and arrive in Fort Bragg where we will then hop on board the famous Skunk Train. Step back in time for a magical ride through the redwoods. Since 1885 the historic Skunk has made its way through old-growth redwood groves, over scenic trestle bridges, through spectacular tunnels, and into the heart of the Noyo River canyon. Our overnight is here in Fort Bragg, CA.

Our morning starts with a stop at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, for a tour of these beautiful gardens. Leaving here we journey down the famous California Coastal Highway. In route we stop at Point Arena Lighthouse and Goat Rock State Park Beach. From here we leave the coast behind and head to Santa Rosa where we will be overnighting.

Napa Valley is awaiting us today. We will make a short drive this morning to Napa Valley where our local step on guide is waiting to hop on our bus and tell us all about why Napa Valley is the most celebrated wine region in North America. World-renowned wine, cuisine and scenic landscape all make this a must-visit destination. After visiting a couple of famous wineries, we continue our journey to our hotel for the night - right outside Yosemite National Park

Today we will be spending time in the one and the only Yosemite National Park. We will arrive in the park and enjoy a guided bus tour of the valley floor, which is the best way to experience all the wonders that the park has to offer. Our expert tour guide will share their knowledge about this remarkable place, with a focus on natural history, indigenous peoples, the first settlers and wildlife. On our tour you will see the breathtaking views of Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, El Capitan, Tunnel View, Bridal Veil Fall and more. This is simply the perfect way to cap off our time here in California, When our time in Yosemite winds down, we will make the drive back to Sacramento where we will be staying for our final night
