Tour Description

Your package includes deluxe transportation and accommodations, all listed tour fees, and 15 meals.

Get ready! Pack your camera and prepare to cast off on this unforgettable voyage. Is there a better way to explore the Great Lakes than by boat? The answer is—of course—No! This will be an experience you don’t want to miss as we explore each of the Great Lakes, soaking in the beauty of the land and the water. The Lakes aren’t all you will be doing, though. We have all sorts of fascinating places to take you. One thing is for sure! This is—without a doubt—the best way to experience the Great Lakes!

Day 1:

Meals: Lunch

As we make our way northward, feel free to relax and meet your fellow travelers. We will make our way to our hotel for the night in Terre Haute, IN.   Great Lakes Map

Day 2:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

As we make our way into Ohio, we find ourselves at our first activity together. We will be arriving at the Ohio State Reformatory. If you’ve seen the classic movie “Shawshank Redemption” then you’ve seen this impressive prison. Here we will tour the intact set from the famous movie as well as stroll the halls and visit the cells of some of history’s toughest criminals. Tonight, dinner is included at a surprise stop in Sandusky, OH. Our overnight tonight is in Clinton, OH

Day 3:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Today, we will be getting out on the water of Lake Erie, as we board Miller’s Ferry and cruise on over to Put-In-Bay Island. Put-In-Bay is often called the “Key West of the North” filled with historic sites and breathtaking water views. If there is a better way to experience Lake Erie, I don’t know it. We will spend all day here on the Island before returning to our hotel for the night.

Day 4:

Meals: Breakfast

Continuing north we reach the one and only Niagara Falls early this afternoon. After a short stop at our hotel in Niagara (a couple hundred feet from the falls) to get settled in we head to the Maid of the Mist to journey into the falls. Being overwhelmed by the thunderous roaring of the falls is an experience you will never forget.

Day 5:

Meals: Breakfast

This morning starts will a picture stop at the “Floral Clock.” This popular, time-tested destination features a large clock face made of colorful flowerbeds. Our time here is followed up with some free time to shop, explore and enjoy lunch in the delightful hidden gem called Niagara on the Lake. With its timeless charm and captivating landscapes, this picturesque town is the perfect destination for memory making. Next up on the agenda is a quick drive into Toronto, where we find ourselves boarding another ship for our 2nd Lake cruise, this time on Lake Ontario. Following this we leave Toronto and head to London, Ontario, for our overnight.

Day 6:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Today we arrive in Frankenmuth, MI, where we will stay for the evening. If you’re unfamiliar with this little town, you should know that Frankenmuth is called Little Bavaria, which is truly a beautiful little town. Here we will tour the city together to discover authentic Bavarian architecture and why they take pride in preserving their German heritage. You will have multiple opportunities to make some memories on this fine day!

Day 7:

Meals: Breakfast

As we leave Frankenmuth we continue into northern Michigan until we find ourselves in Traverse City on the banks of Lake Michigan. Our time here starts with a chance to walk the beautiful downtown and eat lunch before our next Lake Cruise. We board the Tall Ship Manitou, to experience Lake Michigan on a replica of an 1800’s “coasting” cargo schooner, similar to those that sailed the Great Lakes and the Atlantic Ocean. After this experience, we depart Traverse City and find ourselves in Mackinaw City, MI, where we will be overnighting.

Day 8:

Meals: Breakfast

Today, we sail on Lake Huron. We will take a ride on Shepler’s Mackinac Island Ferry. Once we unload from the ferry, we get a grand tour Mackinac Island and then spend the remainder of the day exploring the island for ourselves! As the day winds down, we will reboard our ferry and return to the mainland and our hotel in Mackinaw City.

Day 9:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Be sure you remember to bring your camera today because we are driving through Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Our first stop at Tahquamenon Falls will take in the beauty of the falls – and we will enjoy an included lunch here. We then continue to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, where we have a spectacular experience set up for everyone on Lake Superior. One you won’t soon forget! A cruise along Pictured Rocks Lakeshore takes us into and alongside the most visually stunning 40 miles of shoreline on the Great Lakes! East Channel Lighthouse, Grand Island, Miner’s Castle, Painted Coves, Lover’s Leap, and many more, each with its own history and unique beauty. These are just some of the remarkable landmarks you can bask in on this incredible voyage. After our cruise, our hotel in Munising, MI, is waiting for us.

Day 10:

Meals: Breakfast

After the magnificence of all Five Great Lakes, it’s time to start our journey homeward. This evening we find ourselves in Bloomington, IL, for our overnight.

Day 11:

Meals: Breakfast

All good things must come to an end. We’ve had so many great days together cruising and exploring! Life awaits us, but the memories will remain. We can share stories, pictures, and videos, forever cherishing our time with each other.
