Tour Description

For the last 6 years Making Memories has put on an annual Girl’s Trip with no boys allowed. Well, here at Making Memories Tours, we always want to be fair. That’s why for 2024 we are heading out on our first ever Men’s Trip. It seems to me that since the ladies have had a 6-year head start on us we ought to start out strong. We’ve planned this tour so that you have the opportunity to do some deep-sea fishing on Father’s Day. We’ve also built in multiple nights on the beach, and you will enjoy a free day where you can either relax on the beach, go deep-sea fishing for a second day or spend the day golfing. The choice is up to you. So, grab your dad or your son and let’s go make some manly memories.

Day 1:

Meals: Dinner

Today, we board our bus and start our journey together as we head south. The first stop we will enjoy will be in Memphis at the massive, one-of-a-kind, Bass Pro Shop in the Pyramid. After a little time to browse (don’t worry men this tour isn’t a shopping trip) we head to the top of the Pyramid for an included dinner. Leaving here, it is a short drive to our hotel for the night in Horn

Day 2:

So, one thing about deep sea fishing is you have to get to the coast.  Therefore, today is primarily a driving day as we make our way south trying to get to the Gulf. We do have time at the Mississippi Aviation Museum, which honors Mississippi aviation heritage and the heroes that forged it.  Leaving here we find ourselves in Mobile, AL, where we will be spending the night.

Day 3:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Today is Father’s Day, and this is also the day where we will all be boarding a large boat together and spending a good part of the day out on the Gulf of Mexico doing some Deep-Sea Fishing.  Everything needed is included here - bait, tackle, rods and reels, and fishing licenses.  The deckhands will gladly filet and bag your fish for $0.30 per pound (not included).  Just some of the fish that might be caught include Red Snapper, Triggerfish, Vermilion Snapper, White Snapper and Lane Snapper.  Our hotel for the next two nights is right on the ocean in Orange Beach, AL.

Day 4:

Making Memories decided to go ahead and make today a free day, because there are several different ways you can spend the day and many people might want different things.  So, here are your options - you can hang out at our beachfront hotel and enjoy relaxing by the ocean, you could head back to the dock and enjoy another day of deep-sea fishing, or you can head out for a day of golfing.  You choose what you like, and Making Memories will handle the transportation.

Day 5:

This morning we say goodbye to the ocean as we head homeward.  On the way, will have a stop at Vicksburg National Military Park. Here we learn about the significance of this strategic position during the time of the Civil War.  Leaving here, we continue to our overnight in Monticello, AR.

Day 6:

Meals: Breakfast

As we make our way home today, we do have one more stop.  In North Little Rock, we arrive at the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum. While here we will have the chance to enter the USS Razorback. This submarine is a veteran of WWII, Vietnam, and the Cold War. Leaving here we continue home. The journey may be over, but the memories will last a lifetime.
