Newfoundland and Labrador aren’t just breeds of dogs. The Newfoundland and Labrador province of Canada has a rich history filled with inventions, architecture, icebergs, whales, Puffins, and Vikings! Join us on our exploration of this scenic land overflowing with memories!

Day 1:

We gather our fellow adventurers and enjoy a restful night and prepare for our flight early tomorrow morning.   Newfoundland Map

Day 2:

Meals: Breakfast

This morning we continue acquainting ourselves with new friends before taking a flight to our hotel in Deer Lake, Newfoundland.

Day 3:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

As we start our journey together, we travel through Gros Morne National Park - to be enjoyed later during your tour - to the fishing community of Port au Choix to learn about ancient cultures.  The Port au Choix Peninsula juts slightly out into the Gulf of St. Lawrence on Newfoundland's northwest coast and people have lived here for 5,500 years. While here we will visit the Port au Choix National Historic Site before checking into our accommodations here.

Day 4:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Come aboard the ferry from St. Barbe to cross the Strait of Belle Isle to Labrador. Continue to Red Bay National Historic Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the Basques had a whaling station in the 16th century. This mystical place takes the essence of Labrador coastal living and transposes it onto a tapestry of rich culture and history. Here we will spend the night in Labrador.

Day 5:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

We will return to Newfoundland and travel to L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site, the first cultural discovery in the world to receive recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hear of the Vikings who walked here over a thousand years ago before continuing to your St. Anthony accommodations for the night.

Day 6:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

This morning we have something truly special planned, we will enjoy a morning whale-watching boat tour, we even planned this during the best time of the year to see Titanic-sized icebergs. After this incredible experience, we make our way back south to Cow Head in Gros Morne National Park for a two-night stay.

Day 7:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Discover why Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is truly one of the highlights of your trip with a scenic boat tour on Bonne Bay; be on the lookout for the bald eagles that frequent the deep waters of the fjord. We will also visit the Tablelands; this mountain of flat-topped rock, a kind usually found only deep in the earth’s mantle, is an awe-inspiring sight and it will be here that we will enjoy a picnic in some of the most incredible scenery Canada has to offer.

Day 8:

Meals: Breakfast

Have your camera ready as your time in Gros Morne National Park draws to a close.  We will travel to Central Newfoundland on to Gander, famous for the basis of the hit Broadway Musical, Come from Away, and learn about the hospitality and generosity of the local residents during the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, attacks when 38 airplanes unexpectedly landed there.  Also, visit the North Atlantic Aviation Museum which hosts a variety of artifacts and displays chronicling Gander's role in the development of transatlantic aviation.

Day 9:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

This morning, we are headed to Twillingate to visit the fishing village, home to the Long Point Lighthouse and Price Berth Fishery and Heritage Center.  While in Twillingate we will also experience a second Iceberg Adventure and look for icebergs and whales!  After this, we will head back to Gander for our overnight stay.

Day 10:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Have your camera ready today as we make our way through Terra Nova National Park to the historic towns of Bonavista and Trinity.  Explore the Cape Bonavista Lighthouse before heading to Trinity to view the many historic buildings that have been well-preserved from the 18th century.  Our day ends as we arrive in Clarenville for our overnight.

Day 11:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

This morning we travel to the seaport of St. John’s for our last couple of days in Newfoundland.  We will enjoy a guided city tour to get our bearings in the city and learn about the architecture as well as gaze at the panoramic view from Signal Hill.  We will be overnighting here in St. John’s for the next two nights.

Day 12:

Meals: Breakfast

This morning we take a final boat cruise out in the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve to see puffins and other various seabirds.  We will then go visit the Cape Spear National Historic Site, the most easterly point in North America.  This afternoon we have free time to explore St. John’s at our leisure.

Day 13:
