Autumn in New England is a special place where nature paints a brilliant picture for all the world to see. It is magical to see the fiery intensity of the sky contrasting with the reds, golds, and purples of mountains, valleys, and lakes. If you want to see some fall foliage, this trip is perfect for you. This stunning tour includes basking in the beauty of Bar Harbor in Autumn and many fun, unique stops along the way. This will be an adventure you will never forget!

Day 1:

Our quest for colorful leaves begins today as we board our motorized mule and head out in a northeasterly direction. So, take some time today to meet your fellow fall foliage seekers. We will be arriving in Effingham, IL, for our overnight.

Day 2:

There is a surprise in store for everyone today as we make our way closer to Columbus, OH. After our mystery experience here, we will make our way to our hotel in Wadsworth, OH, for the night.

Day 3:

Our journey takes us into New York today. As we approach New England, you’ll notice the leaves begin to change. We have another activity planned for this afternoon in Jamestown, NY. Lucy, I’m Home! The Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz Museum will have us all wearing smiles as nostalgia takes us back in time. Wade through the fun costumes and memorabilia on display, marvel at the awards they were given, take in the photographs of their personal and TV lives, and much more! Our time with Lucy ends, and we continue to our hotel in Painted Post, NY

Today we continue into New York stopping at the Capital of Albany for a chance to eat lunch on your own before we continue north to arrive on the lovely shores of Lake George. Here we stop at the Fort William Henry Museum and Restoration to learn a little about the old Wilderness Fort. As it happens our hotel for the evening is right here in Lake George.

After departing here, we have a surprise scenic stop with a view you won’t want to miss. The time has come for some free time, so we’ll let everyone loose in Woodstock, Vermont this afternoon to shop and explore. After stretching your legs, we will get back on the bus and make the short drive to the Quechee Gorge for another chance to explore and take some fantastic pictures. We will be staying the night tonight in White River Junction, VT.

Day 6:

Prepare to take in the scenery today because we will see beautiful sights. Our first stop will be at the one and only “The Hobo Railroad” this train provides a view from the comfort of restored vintage coaches on a historic 1800s rail system. Later, we will arrive at Loon Mountain Resort, where we will take a Gondola Ride to the top of Loon Mountain. Autumn foliage viewing doesn’t get much better than this, so bring your camera along as the vibrant colors covering the mountainsides are something you’ll want to share back home. Our tour of Autumn colors will begin this afternoon as we travel down the Kancamagus Highway, one of the most famous highways in New England. We end the day in North Conway, NH

Today, excitement is in the air as we arrive in Bar Harbor. Upon reaching this beautiful town, we will pick up our Step-on-Guide for a personalized tour of Acadia National Park. This beautiful park was the first National Park east of the Mississippi, and millions of people flock here every year to see this beautiful land firsthand. Our tour ends this afternoon, and we find ourselves at our hotel, where we will stay two nights. We have dinner included tonight.

You will enjoy some free time today to shop and discover this quaint little ocean town. We also have a Nature Cruise to go see the Seals in the area. Bring your camera; this is something you don’t want to miss!

We will now begin making our way south along the coast of Maine. We have another surprise in store for everybody today in Portland. Then, our journey takes us to Port Head Lighthouse. Here we will have an opportunity to take some pictures and look around at one of the most photographed lighthouses in the US! Leaving here, we make our way to our hotel in Kennebunk, ME. We will also enjoy a delicious meal at Bull N Claws, which features local fare

Our travels continue today as we head south to check out the Newport Mansions, namely the Breakers. The breathtaking central Great Hall, with its 50-foot-high ceiling, was inspired by the open-air courtyards of Italy but exudes the grandeur of the Gilded Age. The mansion covers nearly an acre of the 13-acre property and has 70 rooms including 48 bedrooms. Leaving here, we will be overnighting in Rayham, RI. Isn’t it fun making memories?

As we start on our way home, we have something interesting planned for this morning; we will be going to check out The Mark Twain House and Museum, This is where this incredible author settled and wrote his most famous stories. Leaving here we continue west and find ourselves in Scranton, PA where we will be overnighting.

We may be homeward bound, but that doesn’t mean the memory-making is over. We will spend this morning at one of the sweetest places on Earth. Hershey’s Chocolate World (if Angie guides this, you may not ever leave). At Hershey’s, you will get to experience the Chocolate Tour simulator ride and the historical trolley tour. We leave the chocolate behind us and spend the night outside Wheeling, WV.

Our adventure comes to an end now as we make our way home. We have made some fabulous memories and taken some breathtaking pictures.
