The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is celebrating 50 years of painting the New Mexico sky with bright colors! Hundreds of giant balloons fill the air with their graceful dance as they take flight. Whether in the dewy, early morning light or under a dark, stary sky, thousands of people flock to see these delicate giants break free from the bonds of gravity as they take flight. This world-famous event has become known as the Spirit of the Winds, a beautiful and incredibly fitting name. So, pack a suitcase and join us for this spectacular experience. You’ll be blown away and come home with bragging rights, pictures, and unforgettable memories.

Day 1:

Meals: Dinner

Today is our bold beginning. We traverse Oklahoma’s long, straight roads to find our first stop at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. This exciting stop is America’s premier institution of Western history, art, and culture. We will also enjoy an included dinner before heading to our hotel tonight in Weatherford, OK.   map

Day 2:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

We hope you’re ready for adventure! The Sandia Peak Tramway will take you far above the noise of Albuquerque. Enjoy a serene and picturesque gondola ride followed by a delicious dinner at the Crestline of the Sandia Mountains. After this breath-taking and mouth-watering experience, we make our way to our Albuquerque hotel. Settle in because we will be staying here for the next three nights.

Day 3:

Meals: Breakfast

This morning, we arrive at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. This festival is a multi-day event, and we will enjoy a wide array of spectacles, including the Special Shape Rodeo and the Dawn Patrol. Our first event during the Fiesta is a stop by the Anderson Abruzzo International Balloon Museum. Who knew there was a museum devoted entirely to hot air balloons? It’s bound to be a glowing, educational experience. Afterward, we’ll return to the festival for even more displays.

Day 4:

Meals: Breakfast

The fun continues at Fiesta Park for the Morning Glow and the Mass Ascension. Then, it’s time for the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, where you’ll see cultural dances and learn about the Pueblo society. Next we’ll have some well-deserved free time in Old Town. From there, we’ll return to Fiesta Park for the next balloon display, the Night Glow.

Day 5:

Meals: Breakfast

We venture off the freeway this morning onto the Turquoise Trail National Scenic Byway. This thoroughfare traverses the Sandia Crest and travels through small towns filled with art, music, and history. After this scenic adventure, we arrive at Santa Fe for a Guided Tour. We’ll see a wide array of fascinating sights and learn everything we can about the capital city of New Mexico. After this, we’ll have some more free time so you can get one more chance to pick up any lastminute souvenirs before you get some rest at your Santa Fe hotel

Day 6:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Today we start homeward passing through Amarillo TX where an included lunch is waiting for us.

Day 7:

Meals: Breakfast

Our time together comes to an end, sailing away like the multitude of hot air balloons gliding into the sunset. But we’ll always have our memories!
