Tour Description

Your package includes deluxe transportation and accommodations, all listed tour fees, and 21 meals.

If you asked a random person what the most beautiful European country is, odds are they will say Switzerland, which is for good reason. The beauty of the Swiss Alps is truly beyond words. The towering snow-covered mountains and vibrant green valleys will leave you speechless. Our journey will not only take us to Switzerland; we will also explore Germany and Austria’s castles and history. A full European experience, including time in Munich and the Alps, is truly a memory maker.

Day 1:

Getting to the airport will be the first thing on our agenda as we begin our pilgrimage to the “Old Country.” In preparation for our early departure tomorrow morning, we will gather today and head to our hotel.   maps

Day 2:

Meals: Breakfast

Today will be spent in the air, as our transatlantic flight takes us across the pond arriving in Munich, Germany.

Day 3:

Meals: Dinner

Our first stop will be the historical city of Rothenburg, where we will enjoy a guided tour of one of Germany’s most romantic towns. We will stay within the historic town wall, and dinner will be included tonight. We will begin our adventure tomorrow, so sleep well tonight.

Day 4:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Today kicks off with a remarkable drive along the beautiful Romantic Road. German culture and scenery come together along the Romantic Road leading to Neuschwanstein Castle. Constructed in 1869 by King Ludwig II, Neuschwanstein is an idealized replica of a “medieval” castle. This castle is considered the most photographed location in the world and is the inspiration for Disney’s Cinderella Castle. It’s important to note there will be a long uphill walk to the castle. Horse carriage rides up the hill are available; however, since they do not offer group reservations, the cost for this will have to be paid individually on arrival. Our hotel tonight will be here in the Bavarian countryside.

Day 5:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Today we will enjoy a couple of walking tours. Our first tour will be in the historic city of Zurich. Here in Zurich, we will see cathedrals, monuments, bridges, and boutiques spread throughout the winding streets. Lucerne will be our next stop on our journey, which will include a combination of driving and walking. We will tour the city’s incredible bridges, dating back to the 1400s. We will see “The dying Lion of Lucerne,” a monument Mark Twain described as the saddest and most moving statue in the world. After our full day, we will be treated to a Folklore Show with our dinner. The show will include traditional Swiss customs, with alphorns, cowbells, costumes, flag throwing, and of course, yodeling! We will be overnighting here in Lucerne for the next two nights.

Day 6:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

A true Alps adventure is in store for us today. Our first stop will be a boat ride on Lake Lucerne, home to some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. However, the day is just getting started because next, we will board Alpnachstadt (the world’s steepest cogwheel railway) and head up to the summit of Mt. Pilatus. At nearly 7,000 feet, the view from up here affords breathtaking panoramas of the Swiss Alps. Departing this mountaintop experience, you will have the rest of the day at your leisure to explore the city of Lucerne

Day 7:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

We say goodbye to Lucerne today as we travel to the beautiful village of Grindelwald. Our journey there will include a unique stop. Alp horns are renowned for being quintessentially Swiss. These giant horns were initially used as a way of communication between villages in The Alps. Today we will see how these remarkable instruments are made. Upon arriving in Grindelwald this afternoon, you will have the rest of the day free to shop and explore this incredible village.

Day 8:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Today we will ascend into the clouds as we take the Jungfraujoch Railway to the top of Mt. Jungfraujoch (don’t feel bad, we can’t pronounce it either). At the top of this mountain, icy air will rush across your face as snow crunches under your feet. The view from here will take your breath away as we will be surrounded by 12,000 feet of snow-covered peaks.

Day 9:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

This morning will be filled with photo stops along a scenic drive through the Alps out of Switzerland and into Austria. Today we arrive in Innsbruck, Austria, for a guided tour of this beautiful, historic medieval city surrounded by the Alps. Our hotel tonight will be here in Innsbruck.

Day 10:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

As we travel along the Austrian Alps today, we will stop at a place that opens the mystery of the mountains like no other. The Swarovski Kristallwelten (Crystal Worlds) is a one-of-a-kind display of the world’s finest crystals. In the Chambers of Wonder, internationally recognized artists, designers, and architects have interpreted crystal in their way. Dinner and hotel tonight will be in the magnificent city of Salzburg, Austria, where we will stay for two nights.

Day 11:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Our walking tour of Salzburg today includes a stroll through the historical city center, visiting beautiful townhouses and mansions, the Mirabell Gardens, the festival hall, Mozart’s birthplace, and the Great Glockenspiel Tower. The rest of our afternoon is free to explore and shop at your leisure. Tonight, you will enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We will be taken back to Mozart’s time. Dinner will be served in the Baroque Hall of St. Peter monastery based on historical recipes from Mozart’s time. A musician in authentic costume will perform music from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Day 12:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Today we head back to Munich, Germany, where we enjoy a walking tour of the Bavarian capital with our local guide. We will make stops at Olympic Park, Nymphenburg Palace (outside), the historic Glockenspiel on the Marienplatz (Mary’s Plaza), and the revered twin-towered Frauenkirche (Our Lady’s Church). Our afternoon will be free for shopping and exploring on your own. We will take in a delightful farewell dinner at a traditional Bavarian Biergarten. We will stay in Munich tonight and rest for our flight tomorrow morning.

Day 13:
