Making Memories is heading south for an adventure of Biblical proportions. After visiting an engineering marvel at the Ark Encounter, we will dance on over to the annual National Gospel Quartet Convention (NQC) in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. We hope you’ll join us on an adventure sure to rejuvenate your mind, body and soul.

Day 1:

After picking up the additional members of our ensemble, we travel through the lovely hill country of Southern Indiana toward Corydon, IN to rest up for our musical journey.

Day 2:

Meals: Breakfast

Leaving Indiana, we cross into Kentucky for an experience that is sure to strike a chord. The Ark Encounter features a full-size Noah’s Ark! This massive boat was built to fit the specification God gave Noah in the Bible: 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high!  It is truly an architectural marvel. But the outside is just the beginning!  Come aboard to explore three levels of artistically rendered replicas and displays that portray the everyday life of Noah and his family. These exquisite exhibits were hand-made with the assistance of Amish craftsmen. After exploring some Biblical history, we make our way to Pigeon Forge, Tenn., home to the highlight of our trip: the National Gospel Quartet Convention (NQC). This annual event gathers some of the most talented Southern Gospel musicians in the world.  We will be staying here and soaking up the sounds for three days, starting with an NQC Performance this evening.  Our hotel for the next three nights will also be in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

Day 3:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Wake up to the sound of deep basses, smooth altos and trilling tenors because its our first full day at NQC! Our morning begins at the Rocky Top Theater to see the Patty Waszak Morning Variety Show, the longest-running Morning Variety Show in the Smokies! Patty’s dynamic singing, entertaining comedy and toe-tapping dancing will wake you up and get you in the mood for a full day of music. Next, we head over to The Island in Pigeon Forge for included lunch! Though it may not be a true island, this Tennessee gem is an oasis of fun! This unique attraction has a variety of distinctive retail shops, local boutiques and classic fair rides. We’ll have some free time to explore here before the music strikes up again at the NQC Evening Session.  Listen as talented men and women perform beloved Southern Gospel classics.

Day 4:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

It’s our last day at NQC!  You have a choice to use your morning to relax in your hotel or hop on the bus to enjoy some free time in Gatlinburg, a nearby town full of scenic views, artisan goods and charming boutiques. We head back to NQC for the highlight of our trip, the NQC Finale!  Take some time to meet the performers at their booths and maybe get some autographs before the show starts.  Just like a great song, the most memorable performances are always left until last, and the NQC finale is no different!  Resonant basses harmonize with angelic tenors to bring you the best sounds of Southern Gospel.

Day 5:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

We leave the fanfare of Pigeon Forge behind and begin our journey home. Make sure to take this time to reminisce before we arrive at our farewell dinner at Pattie’s 1880’s Settlement. Our last night will be in Kuttawa, Ky.

Day 6:

Meals: Breakfast

Our melodious adventure has come to an end, but we hope to see you on our encore tour soon!
