What better way to find some relief from the cold chill of winter than to head on down to the warmer climate of the Florida coast. Paradise awaits us on this escape from our frigid winter months. We have loads of fun and excitement in store for you on this sunny getaway from exploring a real battleship to meeting some alligators, you’re gonna have a blast. We can’t wait to head out and make some memories with you.

Day 1:

An easy day awaits us on the first day of our journey to find the sunshine. As we hit the open road take this time to make some new friends as we head towards our first overnight in Horn Lake, Mississippi.

Day 2:

Meals: Breakfast
We continue onwards today as we make our way closer to our destination. We stop this afternoon in Mobile Alabama for an amazing visit to a real WWII battleship and submarine. The Battleship USS Alabama was launched in 1942. More than twenty years later the “Mighty A” was opened to the public as an independent agency of the state of Alabama. Since then, more than 14 million visitors have trod her decks and stood in awe of her majestic presence. We stay tonight in Mobile, Alabama.

Day 3:

Meals: Breakfast
We will spend the first part of our day at Bellingrath Gardens. Enjoy 65 acres of year-round floral pageantry in this beautiful Southern estate garden. There is always something blooming at Bellingrath Gardens! In winter, come see over 400 varieties of camellias, Alabama’s State Flower. After lunch we’ll continue on to Pensacola, where you have the rest of the day free to do anything that strikes your fancy. There is plenty to do here in this lovely city. We’ll be staying beach side here in Pensacola, Florida for two nights. If you choose, you can dip your toes in the water as you walk in the beautiful white sand.

Day 4:

Meals: Breakfast
You have a choice: you can kick back beach side, take off and explore on your own, or come join us for a visit to The National Naval Aviation Museum. This fascinating museum is the world’s largest Naval Aviation museum and one of the most-visited museums in the state of Florida. See more than 150 beautifully restored aircraft representing Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard Aviation. There’s so much to see and do. Almost as soon as we depart we arrive at our next experience, The Pensacola Lighthouse and Museum. Climb 177 steps up the historic Pensacola Lighthouse for one of the most beautiful views on the Gulf Coast. We then return to our hotel as you will have the rest of the day free.

Day 5:

Meals: Breakfast
After our relaxing time in Pensacola, it is time for you to knock the sand from your sandals, pack up your sunglasses, and don’t forget your hat. We are headed southeast to Orlando where we can try to catch some more rays before sundown. So get ready to buckle up for our next adventure tomorrow. We will be resting tonight in Orlando, Florida.

Day 6:

Meals: Breakfast / Lunch
Houston: There are No problems today as we are headed to the Kennedy Space Center to have a tour of this Historic Landmark. We will be launching with an astronaut! WAIT… I meant to say lunching with an astronaut. Sorry we got carried away. At Making Memories our tours are out of this world, but back to earth now. We will be landing in Sarasota, Florida for the next two nights.

Day 7:

Meals: Breakfast
This morning we meet our step-on guide. As we drive through Sarasota (including the Historic District) our guide will share their knowledge of the city with us and show us all that this great city has to offer. After our tour we make our way to The Ringling (the State Art Museum of Florida) home to one of the preeminent art and cultural collections in the United States. With more to explore and learn than you can possibly see in one trip, this magnificent art collection is sure to make some memories. After this amazing experience, we head back to our resort for the night.

Day 8:

Meals: Breakfast
As we continue on our quest for adventure and excitement, we take a moment to stop and take a look at the smallest post office in the United States, 7 by 8 feet. The next stop on our journey takes us to an alligator adventure in the heart of the everglades. We will be doing our exploring aboard airboats through the Everglades National Park, home to more than 200,000 alligators, so you’re guaranteed to spy quite a few on your Everglades tour! Be sure to keep your camera ready. You’reur gonna want a picture of this. After this exhilarating adventure where we could have been dinner, we are off to have our evening dinner before we make our way to our hotel for 2 nights in Key West, FL.

Day 9:

Meals: Breakfast
Today get ready to discover Key West as we will be taking a Conch Train tour of this incredible city. You will be learning some of the history and legends of Key West. You have the rest of the day free to check out some sights of the city such as, the Harry Truman Little White House, Key West Lighthouse, Mallory Square, or even the Key West Shipwreck Treasure Museum. There are loads of places to see here. Be sure to get a snapshot to show friends and say “I was here” at the Southernmost Point Buoy. It is an anchored concrete buoy in Key West, Florida, marking one of the extreme points of the United States.

Day 10:

Meals: Breakfast / Dinner
After we depart our hotel we take a short drive before we arrive at the Key Largo Princess. What is the Key Largo Princess you ask? Well, it is a 70-foot luxury, glass bottom boat. What this means is that you’ll get a chance to take a spectacular tour of a coral reef without ever even getting wet. As the tour heads to the coral reefs, you’ll experience the many colors of the sea set in a panoramic view of the breathtaking corals. We will enjoy this unforgettable excursion for a couple hours. Then it’s time to move on to our resort in Miami Beach where we will stay for the next 2 nights. We’ll enjoy an excellent dinner this evening at Garcia’s Seafood Grill and Market.

Day 11:

Meals: Breakfast / Lunch
How about we start this day off by boarding the Island Queen? This is a beautiful modern yacht, for an amazing sightseeing cruise along scenic Biscayne Bay. See Miami’s spectacular coastal sites including the beautiful downtown Miami skyline, the Port of Miami, Fisher Island, Miami Beach and “Millionaire’s Row” – the homes of the rich and famous. After taking in the sights, it’s about time for lunch so let’s head over to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. for some delicious seafood. When your belly is full you’ll have the rest of the afternoon free to do a little shopping at the festive Bayside Marketplace. We’ll return to our resort this evening.

Day 12:

Meals: Breakfast
This morning we’ll arrive in West Palm Beach to meet with our step on guide. Our guide will use the next couple hours taking us to see some of the area’s most beautiful mansions, historic sites, landmarks and the homes of celebrities giving you an inside look at this beautiful city. After this memorable experience, we hit the open road once more as we make our way to St. Augustine, Florida for our two night adventure there.

Day 13:

Meals: Breakfast
Are you ready for more excitement in another amazing city? That’s the plan! Today we’ll be taking a trolley tour of the city of St. Augustine. But before we start our exploring of this city let us take a look at The Old Jail. Home to prisoners for over 60 years, the Old Jail in St. Augustine looks more like a resort than a maximum-security facility. It looks very much the way it did when it opened over a century ago. After our tour of St. Augustine you have some free time to do some exploring on your own.

Day 14:

Meals: Breakfast
This day we say goodbye to sunny Florida as we start on our way homeward. You can take this day to relax and unwind from your recent adventure. You can also use this time to reminisce on the last couple days. We’ll stop for the night in Dalton, Georgia.

Day 15:

Meals: Breakfast
Today is a travel day as we draw closer to home and the end of our journey. Tonight we arrive at our hotel in West Memphis, Arkansas where we enjoy each other’s company for one more night.

Day 16:

Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast today we start on the last leg of our “thawing out” together. We’ll arrive home this afternoon hopefully not to freezing temperatures in the Ozarks. As we say our goodbyes, one thing is quite certain: that we have made warm memories together that we’ll never forget.
