Bible Stories Come to Life
Creation Museum
Tour Description
The State-of-the-art 75,000 square-foot museum brings the pages of the Bible to life, casting its characters and animals in dynamic form and placing them in familiar settings. Adam and Eve live in the Garden of Eden. Children play and dinosaurs roam near Eden’s Rivers. The serpent cunningly coils in the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Be prepared to experience history in a completely unprecedented way. Take a biblical walk through the timeline of history allowing you to explore the Bible and science through the 7 C’s of biblical history which are: Creation, Corruption (The Fall of Man), Catastrophe (The Flood), Confusion (The Tower of Babel), Christ, Cross and the Consummation. If that isn’t enough to inspire you, you are also going to be able to tour Noah’s Ark made to Biblical Specifications.
Day 1:
Today is a travel day, and your Tour Director will keep you entertained and informed. Our destination is Effingham, Illinois.
Day 2:
We will arrive in Cincinnati, Ohio in time for lunch. After lunch, we will cross the river into Covington, Kentucky to tour the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption located here in Covington. Listed among “the most beautiful churches in the world,” the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption is a beautifully ornate example of Gothic Revival architecture. There are 82 hand poured stained glass windows crafted in Germany including the 24 foot wide by 67 foot tall window, one of the largest in the world. After this magnificent tour, we will check into our hotel before boarding for another kind of Riverboat Cruise. We will enjoy The Captains Dinner Cruise on the BB Riverboat as we cruise the Ohio. Our lodging for two nights will be in Covington, Kentucky. (B.D)
Day 3:
What an experience we have in store for us today as we travel the short distance to Petersburg, Kentucky, located just across the river from Cincinnati, Ohio and the Creation Museum – Answers in Genesis. Our first experience upon arrival will be to take our reserved seats in the Stargazer’s Planetarium for an amazing flight. Each seat is a rocket launching pad, so prepare for lift-off! The digital projector showcases a spectacular gravity-defying spaceflight, a thrilling ride billions of light years away to the vast outer regions of our universe. After this awesome presentation, you are free to tour the Museum on your own. The center piece of the museum is the historical Timeline, which is a biblical walk through history. Walk through the Garden of Eden where dinosaurs roam with other animals. Visit the Dinosaur Den, and be sure to watch the Theater Presentations throughout the museum. For instance, the Six Day Theater and the Last Adam Theater are part of the walk-through Timeline of History. The Dragon Legends Theater is right beside the Dinosaur Den and don’t miss the special effect presentation of Men in White, a take-off of the title of the movie Men in Black. These are just some of the enlightening presentations available! The theaters afford “rest breaks” throughout the museum, and there are also food venues. Next is Noah’s Ark! Have you ever wondered how big the Ark really was, or how it was built? Now you can see it from the inside out—the size and scale of the original as recorded in the Bible! What a day! But now, we return to our hotel for some much needed down time. (B)
Day 4:
This morning we are going to tour The Garden of Hope in Covington. Tucked away on top of a hill that is cut by Interstate 75 in Northern Kentucky and across the river from Cincinnati is a hidden gem of hope. The Garden of Hope is a replica of the Garden Tomb in Jerusalem. Before we depart, we will climb up the stairs for a beautiful view of the Cincinnati skyline. We depart for Louisville and an included lunch at the delightful Huber Restaurant where most of the produce is family grown and served family style. After lunch, we will visit their gift shop where you can buy some delectable tidbits if you are not too full. We continue to Mt. Vernon, Illinois for our nights lodging. (B.L)
Day 5:
Our journey takes us home today, but we believe this is a tour that will live on in your memory for a lifetime. It may be because you learned to believe, or it may be because you are still a skeptic, but it will forever be indelible on your mind. (B)
