How would you like to be immersed in a totally different world? That’s what is in store for you on this amazing adventure. We’re going to the heart of Amish Country to discover an entirely different way of life. From our internet run fast paced society you will be swept away to a more peaceful place where slowing down is just how things are.

Day 1:

Today we start on our pilgrimage to somewhere new and exciting. Since this is our first day together, you will want to spend your time getting to know your new family for this venture so relax and make some new friends. Terre Haute, Indiana is where “our carriage” will rest for the night.

Day 2:

After breakfast we will once more take to the road. We will arrive in Berlin, OH this afternoon, but our day isn’t over with yet, because we are going to a truly remarkable shrine to human dedication and skill. “The Warther Museum” is a one of a kind experience, where they showcase the hand carvings of possibly the world’s greatest wood carver. The things he was able to carve by hand are literally unbelievable. We will be enjoying our evening meal at this unique place. Our home for the next three nights will be in Berlin, Ohio.

Day 3:

We spend today with our guide as we become acquainted with the charm of the Amish Country. From back roads to buggy rides we will tour everyday places in Amish life. You will have the opportunity to experience something very few “English “people are allowed to do; you will sit down and have a home cooked Amish meal in a real Amish home. Then with a big smile and full belly we return to our home to rest up for another exciting day ahead.

Day 4:

You have today all to yourself giving you a chance to do a little exploring on your own. Hit the town of Berlin, and do a little shopping, here are all kinds of wonderful things to see and buy. Be sure to bring home a souvenir. Don’t neglect your taste buds! Try some of the local food–you won’t be disappointed. Just be sure to return in time for our evening fun. We are going to the Amish Country Theater for dinner and a delightful show; you won’t want to miss this. After this memorable night, we return to our home for a good night’s rest.

As the rooster crows we are off to a little place called Lehman’s. This down-to-earth shopping experience includes four pre –civil war era buildings–all under one soaring roof. They sell everything from old-fashioned treats and sodas to practical, non-electric goods that help you live a simpler life. After this exciting stop we leave for more fun in the form of buggy rides. This is sure to make some memories. We overnight for two nights in Shipshewana, Indiana. However, we are not done yet… we had the chance to set up another home cooked Amish meal in an Amish home in the Shipshewana area, so we jumped on it for YOU–our Making Memories Family!

On the agenda today we’ve got more adventure planned for you. First we stop at Lambright Country Chimes for a look at some absolutely beautiful handcrafted Amish wind Chimes. Next we make our way to Troyer Carriage Co. Today we get a chance to “get up close and personal” with the Amish way of life with a guided tour of this wonderful country side. Tonight we have a real treat for you in form of a dinner and a show at the Blue Gate Restaurant and Theater.

This is the last day before we head back, so we’ve got some really interesting stops to make today. Our first stop this day is at Deutsch Kase Haus where we will have the opportunity to view the process of making some world champion Colby. We can sample the many cheeses offered in their store. Next stop Teaberry Wood Products. Then make our way to Das Dutchman Essenhaus for some time shopping for local Amish made goods. We make our way homeward now overnighting in Effingham, Illinois.

Today we arrive home and say farewell to all our new family. So spend today reflecting on all we’ve experienced and seen. We hope you had an amazing time on this journey & we like to think you have made some charming Amish Memories with us.
