Here at Making Memories we have had many requests to do a quilting trip.  You have been heard ladies and gentlemen! We present to you a trip to see the one, the only, the famous, the paradise of patchwork:  the Paducah Quilt Festival.  If you love quilting, if you’re interested in learning about quilting, or if you just enjoy shopping for unique handmade artwork, then this is the trip for you.  The Paducah Quilt Festival is known by quilters all over the world for the beautiful pieces on display that are truly works of art.

Day One:

As our day starts we will make our way eastward across Missouri.  By the end of the day we’ll be settled into our hotel in Paducah.  Since we only have one day of traveling to get there, you should probably use this day to get to know your fellow quilters.  Let us at Making Memories take care of all the stress of traveling…you just worry about making some memories.

Day Two:

Meals: Breakfast

Everyone will have three full days to explore the Paducah Quilt Festival, taking in all there is to see at this incredible event.  This trip is great if you like trips that give you the freedom to “shop till you drop.”  One thing is for sure, there is so much to see and so many events to experience that you’ll be glad for the opportunity to take things at your own pace.  Another thing included is a chance for our Making Memories quilting connoisseurs to have the opportunity to attend the All Star Review, the festival’s most popular event.  Here different instructors stand up and give 10 minute demonstrations followed by a question and answer session.  This is the perfect opportunity to get some tips and advice from the professionals about the art of quilting.  There will also be a trip to the National Quilt Museum, a must see destination for quilters and art enthusiasts worldwide.  Annually the Museum receives visitors from all 50 U.S. states and over 45 foreign countries.  .  No trip to The Paducah Quilt Festival would be complete without going to the Hancock's fabric store.  So, before we leave town, we will go to the World's largest supplier of quilting fabric.

Day Three:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Fun at The Paducah Quilt Festival continues… On one of our nights in Paducah, we will enjoy a delicious German-style meal at the St. Paul Lutheran Church

Day Four:

Meals: Breakfast

Fun at The Paducah Quilt Festival continues until late afternoon when we will leave Paducah and will be overnighting in Sikeston Missouri.

Day Five:

Meals: Breakfast

Today we have one more stop to make.  We will visit the Laura Ingalls Wilder House and Museum in Mansfield, MO. As we continue our journey home, we will be bringing with us a patchwork of precious memories of a festival known all over the world.  Another thing you’ll be bringing home with you is bragging rights to share with other quilters you may know who were not lucky enough to make it to the festival this year.  Thank you for travelling with us and we hope to see you again on another memory making adventure.
