Tour Description

Your package includes deluxe transportation and accommodations, all listed tour fees, and 10 meals.

Get ready for a southern adventure that is sure to be good for your soul on this unforgettable journey to Macon, Georgia. You see, folks down south know how to throw a festival. With over 300,000 Yoshino Cherry Blossom trees, Macon becomes the “pinkest” city in the world when the trees are in full bloom and the good times just keep a comin’. The 10-day festival includes a fair at Central City Park, live music, shopping, parades, a block party, an arts and crafts festival, and more. But if the largest cherry blossom festival in the world isn’t enough for you, don’t worry we’ve got plenty of other exciting stops in store as well.

Day One:

We head out today and start making our way to the sunny south.  We’ll make it all the way to Nashville, TN for our overnight tonight.  Leave your troubles behind, sit back, relax, and let us at Making Memories take care of you.

Day Two:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Today as we leave Nashville behind, the excitement starts to build as we get closer to our destination.  We won’t, however, be arriving today because we have an exciting day planned for you in Chattanooga, TN:  a train ride on the Tennessee Valley Train.  As the train rolls to a stop with the ground rumbling under your feet, you will feel mounting anticipation. The conductor calls the long-awaited signal: “All Aboard!” Excitement builds as everybody scurries on board.  Our iron horse will be giving us a beautiful scenic ride on Missionary Ridge.  We depart the train and make it to our hotel tonight in Chattanooga, but the fun isn’t over yet.  For our evening’s entertainment, we’ll be enjoying a lovely dinner cruise aboard the Southern Belle Riverboat.

Day Three:

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Another fun-filled day awaits everyone as we kick off the day with a trip to Ruby Falls.  Ruby Falls, this breathtaking waterfall located over 1,120 feet below the surface of Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, has been attracting sightseers for over 85 years.  Our next stop today takes us to another breathtaking location, Rock City.  Located atop Lookout Mountain, Rock City is a true marvel of nature featuring massive and ancient rock formations, spectacular gardens, and breathtaking panoramic views.  We’ll leave Rock City this afternoon and make our way to our hotel in Macon, GA where we will be staying for the next three nights.

Day Four:

Meals: Breakfast

We’ll start the day off with a very fitting breakfast to get us in the festive spirit: pink pancakes.  Then we’ll hop on the bus and meet up with our step on guide for a tour of the city.  Guess what happens after our tour… some good old-fashioned bed racing.  The remainder of the day is yours to do as you please: explore, shop, eat, take in some of the many different activities going on, whatever tickles your fancy.

Day Five:

Meals: Breakfast

Since it is Sunday, you have the option of attending the Opening Worship Ceremony at a local Church this morning.  Afterward you have some free time to explore and take in more of the Cherry Blossom Festival before we all attend a Festival tradition where they light the ceremonial lantern in Third Street Park.  We still have one more experience here today:  the famous Cherry Blossom Parade.  Fantastic floats, marching bands, military units, costumed performers, international dignitaries, and more combine to transform an already beautiful historic downtown into a dazzling showpiece. Afterward we’ll return to our hotel for our last night in Macon.

Day Six:

Meals: Breakfast

Today we will be saying good-bye to “The Peach State” and start our journey home.  But before we get very far, we have a truly unique surprise in store for everyone.  It’s a secret and our lips are sealed!  We’ll only say that it’s possible you might find something that belongs to you.  (Try and figure that one out!)  Our overnight tonight takes us to Madison, AL.

Day Seven:

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

We leave our hotel this morning, but won’t make it very far before we make a stop at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. The U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL houses the most complete collection on the planet of national treasures from space exploration.  We leave here and continue homeward, making our overnight in Gilbertsville, KY.  But before we call it a day, we will be taking everybody to a farewell dinner tonight at Patti’s 1880’s Settlement for a delicious meal.

Day Eight:

Meals: Breakfast

We will be arriving home today.  Hopefully you are “tickled pink” about our adventure.  We hope this was a wonderful way to start your springtime memories.
